Guide to Grammar and Writing Guide to Grammar & Writing is an impressive interactive guide with tutorials, PowerPoint presentations, and interactive quizzes. It is divided into six major categories: Word & Sentence Level; Paragraph Level; Essay & Research Paper Level; Ask Grammar, Quizzes, and Search Devices; Peripheral Devices; GrammarPoll, Guestbook, Awards. There are over 150 computer-graded quizzes to test your knowledge of grammar.
Online Writing Lab at Purdue University has the most comprehensive OWLs (Online Writing Labs) on the Web and offers hypertext workshops and subject tutorials on writing various types of papers, teacher resources, collections of links to help users find information on the Internet, PowerPoint presentations about writing that can be downloaded for use in classes or individual study, and web pages that cover all aspects of writing. The Purdue OWL also contains a list of handouts organized by category and a list of interactive practice exercises. You can opt to receive their free Writing Lab Newsletter, which contains articles and information about tutoring.
Grammar Girl Engaging "Quick and Dirty Tips" podcasts on writing from a popular presenter, and author. Grammar Girl tackles complex grammar questions and uses memory tricks to help you recall and apply grammar rules.
The Blue Book of Grammar & Punctuation You don't have to purchase the Blue Book to use the resources at this site. It explains punctuation, subjects and verbs, pronouns, adjectives and adverbs, and outlines specific usage problems such as effect vs. affect. There are plenty of examples and exercises and video tutorials.

Rules for Writers (6th Edition) This is the companion Web site for Rules for Writers, Sixth Edition by Diane Hacker. Hacker taught English for more than thirty years at Prince George's Community College in Maryland and her resources includes tutorials, writing, grammar, and research exercises, ESL, and additional topics.
